The Texas Burger Blog is a chronicle of our quest for the best hamburger in Texas. Your opinion of “best” may be different from ours, and that is OK. This is America, and you have the right to be wrong.
Even among TBB staff, you will find differing opinions, and when available, those differences will be noted in the reviews. All are in agreement, however, that burgers may be broken down into three categories: Classic, Fancy, andWeird. A Classic burger contains beef, cheese, and ordinary vegetables such as lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. You will find mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, or barbecue sauce on a classic burger. But if you add much more than that, you have moved into the Fancy category. Here, the cheese may be blue and the pickles may give way to mushrooms. Alfalfa sprouts and other lawn clippings may be found here. A burger becomes Weird when, for example, the beef is replaced with a portobello mushroom or other similar foolishness.
